This Sunday, January 4 2015, the 3rd AGA Pro Tournament is starting! The tournament will last several days.

Eight finalists from across the US and Canada will vie to become the next Western pro player in a week-long tournament outside Boston. You can tune in to live broadcasts of the games on the KGS Go Server at 9:30am and 4:30pm every day of the week, starting on Sunday.

The format of the competition is a round-robin series to determine seedings into a single elimination bracket. Quarter and semi final rounds are best of 3 (with the first game being counted from the round-robin), and depending on available time, the finals will be either a best of 3 or best of 5. Full details are at the AGA's website

Of the competitors, Matt Burrall is at UC Berkeley, Ryan Li is at University of Toronto, and Ricky Zhao is at Princeton University. Ryan and Ricky have both competed for their school in the CGL. We wish everyone the best of luck!
